1969 dash

Post by jpswapmohn »

So, I came across this. I want the whole dash with everything attached, in closing the A/C. I have NO idea what a reasonable price would be for the condition. Looking for input.

It is not near me, but I have bought other stuff off of this rig and the guys seem reasonable on prices, if a little slow on pulling the parts.

Not worried about the dash pad, as I wouldn’t reuse it anyway.

So what do you all think? There is someone on FB with an early dash, minus the speedo that is asking $200. Doesn’t seem unreasonable, but doesn’t have the A/C.

“Including” the A/C, not “in closing” ..

I’d pay 200.00 for it- if the AC center piece is there where the glovebox is, the rest can be sourced elsewhere.

Any chance you could get the steering column for me?

If you don't get it I'd be very interested in the a.c. unit. Been looking for one for awhile.
Thanks

Owen, I will let you know. I have been waiting on them to get back to me on the dash. Sounds like they pulled the column pretty quick to send out to 66. If I can get it and find that I can't use it, I will send it your way.

Maybe the column was already out since you wanted the dash?

Did you get the dash? If I’m not mistaken that’s a Super Wagoneer is it not?

It’s the X model- so, the “son” of the Super.

The X used all the Super’s interior pieces- none of the exterior trim pieces.

Still waiting on them to pull the dash. Agreed on price, but he did say he may baulk if it is too painful. Should be easy considering the windshield and a-pillars are gone.. will let you know once I know.

Well, it took awhile, but it is now in the garage (not much room left in there!)
Let the games begin..

I am excited to get started cleaning this up. The knobs and such look really really good. The surround for the a/c is cracked and missing a chunk. May be searching for one, or trying to make one. We’ll see.

I was happy to see that they literally pulled the whole dash and everything attached!

There may be a few parts left on the rig, if anyone is interested. Contact 205 Auto Salvage in Portland Oregon. Garry was good to work with.

The 69 has front 1/2 of roof cut off and front doors are gone. I got the badges and dash, 66 got the steering column. Unfortunately, someone already removed the center console and shifter.

picture 23 here: https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/pts ... 18794.html

i have no association with the place (i am on the east coast). I just happen to spot it in a picture online and contacted them.

Happy Hunting!

Yea, and since my wife ended out in Seattle to visit family (and pick up a nice car trailer, too!), she detoured down to portland and picked it up. Garry only charged me $150 for the whole thing. He took $50 off just for not having to deal with packaging and shipping.
Took awhile, but seems like a good place to deal with.
