Hello!
No updates. I removed the system after this California gasoline ate a second metering plate. I don't drive the Chief much these days so it's somewhat pointless to use it currently. It was fun to be able to adjust the mixture at will however. :)

I was looking at the percy's option beside plastic, they offer composite -which is still plastic, but probably better...

CNC could be the solution for those of us who favor analog technology...

or 3D printing to make a mold and use urethane for the material "quote" : actually a better material, urethane. It holds up to engine temps and insulates twice as good as the phenolic material I was using. However, it "urethane" was a two part liquid material, so I would need a mold.

In fact I have a question: what is the difference or advantage between adjustable and non-adjustable float(s) ?

Michel: Percy's does offer an aluminum plate but it's designed for alcohol so the needle orifice would be far too large for gasoline. I should take a look at it to see if the needle threads are the same as the plastic versions. Since I removed the threads on the needle in order to allow it to move up and down, perhaps the aluminum plate is the answer to the destructive gasoline additive problem.
Regarding the float, I would have to say the adjustable versions allow for some flexibility when tuning as fuel pressure can affect a non-adjustable 4160 in certain situations.
I have a set of detailed photos of the final version of the system...I just have to find them.

I looked back over the thread and realized there were photos of the last version. Memory is a terrible thing to waste...

JIm, thank you for the update, it is good to know our choices. I have a holley 4 barrel laying somewhere in the parts section.
