Wow, man, that is just so beautiful! I haven't logged on in a while and this amazing to see...I still haven't seen a Super in real life up close, and the only one I've seen was covered in gray paint. The interior had some stock Super stuff or maybe it was a 1414X. At any rate, congratulations!
73 J4000. 360, MC 2100, T18A, D20, stock closed knuckle Dana 44 front, 60-2 rear. Warn Lock-O-Matics, Warn/Belleview electric winch, true duals with glasspacks, old-school front diff skid plate, used 265 Toyos on 16" AR wheels.

Thanks Twisted Frame! This is the nicest one I've ever seen up close, too. Thanks again- and, more importantly, welcome back!

The PO cut the dash for a modern stereo.

While I have a replacement piece cut out to bring it back to stock, it was easier to pull the Sony CD player out, find the stock # and get a replacement faceplate off of eBay.

I downloaded the user manual and spent some time reprogramming all the features.

Sadly, I couldn't get my phone to play through the special RCA to headphone jack adapter, but the local radio stations came though just fine.

Thank God the PO had speakers installed behind the door panels and did not cut holes into the door panels. The unit actually sounds pretty good for being early 90's vintage. I set the LCD display to red.

Got any ideas for how to get the bend out of that dash pad? Mild heat maybe? I imagine it warped due to temperature fluctuation and heat in the first place. Is the pad glued to the metal dash? (I've never removed one.)

Yeah, that's a "million dollar" question! Most of the pads are warped to some degree. I've only seen 4 dash pads that weren't warped. I have one waiting to go onto the 3:1 Super Build.

The red pad on this one has been recovered, and it was done pretty well. I don't know what is under the recover, but I think mild heat and pressure should put it back to it's original position. I'm slowly tinkering with the misc. problems here and there as time and health allow.

Part of the dash pad seems to have been reattached with an adhesive strip, but the upholstery shop also used the factory retaining clips on the front part of the pad.

The dash pads also attach to the dash at the firewall/dash area where the dash bolts to the windshield channel. So the back 1/2 of the pad sits under the windshield gasket.

I finally finished polishing the hood, cowl, and body above the chrome trim. Whew. I'm on the 4th wash of the windows as they hadn't been washed in awhile and nothing but rewashing them has helped.

This is the one the came from Arkansas. The PO passed away and his family no longer wanted it, so it sold through the estate.

An eccentric lady bought it- locals used the term "Artsy Fartsy" to describe her. She grew tired of it as it rides like a lifted jeep and she went back to her Cadillac.

Haha, I took of the rear cargo panel on the passenger’s side and found these stashed in the rear quarter panel area:

Speaking of Supers... I reupholstered the console lid for Nightglide's J-Truck. DAMN! I'll never do that again.

That console pad looks awesome! If you run across a set of the early door arm rests, like in the Super, please keep me in mind. I would like to have a seat to go into my wagon.

I don’t know how you find these things, but you sure do seem to.
