Are you still running the mechanical pump with the lines up the front of the block and across the intake? That always seemed like a horrible way to avoid heat sink...Nikkormat wrote:A Street Demon. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_sy ... parts/1901will e wrote:I've lost track gabe. Straight through is what I was running.will e wrote:Nikkormat wrote:A Street Demon. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_sy ... parts/1901will e wrote:I've lost track gabe. What carb atr you running?

I run a holley Truck Avenger. I cured my vapor lock by removing the return line. I got a straight through fuel filter. Next time you are vapor locking try pinching the return line with a small vice grip. Drive a few more miles and see if your problem goes away. Of just spend a few bucks on a straight through filter and see if the problem goes away.
That street Demon wants about 5 to 7 lbs of pressure. With your stock return fuel filter you are only getting about 2lbs at the carb. At least that is what I learned when I used a fuel pressure gauge to measure.
Others will tell you the return line allows the fuel to flow and helps to keep it cool and avoid vapor lock. I know a standard return line does work for lots of people.
Yeah, still running all that in the stock manner. The outlet on this pump is movable so I suppose I could change up the way the lines run.tedlovesjeeps71 wrote:Are you still running the mechanical pump with the lines up the front of the block and across the intake? Maybe run it up the firewall next to the brake booster, across the back and to the carb? Only one area is difficult to keep away from heat, where the exhaust manifold joins the crossover pipe.Nikkormat wrote:Yeah, still running all that in the stock manner. I'll agree, but I'd rather be doing the first one right now. Because I'd have a bunch of you guys (and gals) keeping me company.tedlovesjeeps71 wrote:This:

I think there's a school paper, but I don't want just any old crazy off the street with a souped up Cummins and a welded rear diff... I want to screen people first. Going out with a bunch of jackwagons is worse than going out alone if you ask me.SJTD wrote:Maybe post a School paper ad looking for offroaders?
Or am I showing my age and they don't do school papers anymore? Must have an online version.
