1977 Cherokee Overfueling

Post by jeepinjake »

Hey again. I'm experiencing a nightmare.

Bought new wires, rotor/distributor cap, spark plugs, fuel pump, all new fuel lines, air hoses and NEW CARB!

Yet.. my Jeep still won't run right.

Symptoms:
- Running super rough
- Misfiring
- Overfueling, dying after 2 minutes

After sitting for awhile it starts up instantly. I need help man!! Any ideas?

Assuming that you have a 2150 as pict below, power valve connected to the wrong line, the PV should be connected to intake manifold.

check this the red cap should be connected to the intake manifold -even if it is for a 6cyl, the set up is similar

or this one, C for the power valve intake manifold vacuum

Next step is to check float height, and that the inlet valve is tight in the carb bowl.

Before I forget.... first make sure that the choke is opening, then stays opened.
