Dash switch for rear window

Post by memo43 »

Im got everything pretty much set to finish my install for the rear window motor in my 79 chero.
I sent my motor off to get rebuild through rockauto. new wiring harness from EZ wire.
All I need is the switch for the dash, I have kicked around the idea of going an aftermarket switch from the local parts store.
what switch are you running on your dash, post pictures if you have them.
thanks in advance

I have the OEM dash switch on my 77 that I no longer use. You are welcome to it for postage from Sacramento.

Here is a photo of the switch. I recall them being the same from like 73 through the 80s.

I have an aftermarket switch from a local marine shop. No pics as I'm on deployment right now but it's a momentary on-off-momentary on, triple throw, triple (or was it double?) pole switch. Honestly, though, I wish I would have just found a good used switch or NOS. I have a couple back home that I'll be switching back to.

my home made switch -idea picked up from the mothership-

I went simple, used the hole drilled in the tailgate and wired to the cigarette lighter... I guess I could do a real installation.

or simpler schematic, as the pict above is a bit unclear
