Colorado guys... looking for some assistance

Post by Cheapthrills »

Hey all you colorado guys.. I'm thinking about getting a decent welder with my taxes.
would any of you be interested in use of it in trade for storage and some assistance with my jeeps hear and there.

I do have couple two decent sized projects that I'll need help with, possible engine swap and a spring over kit with shackle flip. And undecided on possible engine swap.

He's in Sedalia, basically you take Sante Fe drive south past c470 about 10 miles and look for the shell station on the right. That's Sedalia, and also the last chance for gas if your headed to Deckers for an adventure.
79 J-10 (Honcho Mucho) KE0LSU
304/Performance Fuel Injection TBI/MTA1/SP2P/Magnum rockers
T18/D20/D44s&4.10s/33" Mud Claws
Grizzly Locker Rear
4" front spring drop, 5" rear shackle flip
Chevy style HEI (ECM controlled)
Dolphin "Shark" gauges in a fancy homemade oak bezel
3/4 resto, rotting faster than I've been fixing it.

I'm down in the springs. Not sure I would label myself a "welder" as I'm self taught, but I can stick metal together.
Depending on how life goes I would be willing to lend what help I can. I'm down in the springs so it won't be an everyday hand, and it'll have to be as my back allows. If nobody with more solid (professional) skills chimes in, let me know and we can talk. God knows my karma bank is about empty. Time to repay kindness with other kindnesses.
Do you have a 220 hookup for the future welder?

No I don't that's why it said "use of" and "storage" need a place for the welder

Ahh, totally misread that, sorry. Worse case I have room in my shipping container down in Payton if you can't find a spot. I don't know if you were/are military (or spouse/dependent), but most military installations have a DIY auto skills shop on post. Ft Carson has a pretty decent welding area as well as an exhaust bender. Maybe if you don't want to spend the money on yours or have an interest in learning, that could be an option.

Another thought... I know at least one guy in Conifer that has skills and probably room. He's a cop for the city of Golden and hangs out (sometimes) on the jeepster commando site. Goes by ACOfficer I think.

Interview for the job was scrubbed. Got an email saying it was to be postponed. Then a follow up email saying they decided to hire internally. :(
Oh well. School starts Monday so I have to survive a month or so until BAH kicks in.

Thanks brotha. It's ok. My luck hasn't been the greatest lately so I'm just taking it in stride. The good thing is school is at night,Mon-Thur. That gives me the day to find a part time job and keep at the VA stuff. The VW goes away in 2 months which will cut out a car payment and reduce insurance. The wife is doing really well at her job and we are hopeful she will be picked up as a FT employee instead of dealing with the staffing agency. Her pay should then match her skills. She's already moved up to a new position and title. Her boss is super impressed, which is great.
Me...I'll keep searching and hoping. There is something out there for me. I know it.

Money (or lack there of) truly IS the root of all evil.
Sure would be nice to win the lottery. Image
