T18 rebuild

Post by hutcho »

So I got an unassembled t18 from a board member and have finally realized it may nit be over my head but definitely outta my time schedule to assemble. Anyone ever have a tranny shop put a pile of parts together? What sounds like a reasonable price? Waiting on a local shop to call me back and you guys have never steered me wrong yet.

Cost will probably be similar to a full rebuild (500 bucks or so), but you need to make sure the shop doing it is familiar with T18's. Otherwise they must end up with extra parts and not let you know :)

Local shop said $75/hr plus parts if needed. Im afraid they are gonna "need" parts whether I have them or not...

Do you have a press? You could get a less expensive one, and I bet Novak would help you out. When I was looking for a bull gear for my friend's T19 install in his Scout, they tore apart the warehouse looking for one they thought they had.
