Erik Clark's Blue Grand Wagoneer

Post by 4x4xAMC »

Changed the title - to be more relevant to the thread.

I hope I'm in the right place looking for this...

I would eventually like to paint my 84 Grand Wag an electric Blue or Royal Blue color. Looking for examples or other Blue Jeeps I came across this one from BJ's Customers.

Does anyone know Erik Clark? This is his 84 Grand Wagoneer, and it's setup almost exactly like I would like to set up (and paint) mine one day. I would appreicate the opportunity to talk with him or exchange e-mails if anyone wouldn't mind sharing some info.

Kind regards,
Mike

But then age, wood panneling flake, and cancer of the rear quarter pannels set in.

Glad to see you made it. Image

I dont know Eric, but he does have one sweet ride.
As for details, theres lots of experience around here. Some are in the paint stage now, it just depends on what you have to work with and how far you want to take it. ;)
That engine in your sig sounds awesome, Im gonna go look now... :D

Welcome to the site! I don't know Eric either and not familiar with that Waggy. It looks nice. We have a member that did the SOA and the Bushwacker flares. I think he is on this site. He is in El Paso.

Then it got bigger...

I have a couple blue GWs that still have wood. Both are 88s. Nothing fancy right now and both are broke down.

I Finally Made it over to the new site... Does this mean IFSJA.org is no longer active?

The baby blue wag.... yea good try; soon as you send me $69,000 :D

I'm really liking the Bushwacker flares... does anyone have a front view, or down the side view of how much the tire would stick out on a N/T set of axles?

I have a set of 35x10.50s at the moment; when I put them on they fall right at the body edge. I'd like to keep some kind of flare but not have the bushwackers to be outside of the width of the wheels / tires. (does that make sense). One of the things I like best about the little Jeeps is how they're wide at the bottom and it only gets more narrow as you go up. Where as our GWs have some "hips" and then skinny feet below.

I've even thought about remounting the stock fender flares to keep the shape of the body. Front's I'm not worried about... but what to do in the rear puzzles me and my sheetmetal fabrication skills.

The rear fenders are a pain in the butt to trim and close back up to keep weather out. I have 35x12.5x15 tires on mine and I needed 1" wheel spacers for them to not rub on the front & rear springs. Maybe the 10.5 width will fit...
