So one of our customers comes to me and says he just bought a '77 CJ7, 304, th400, QT. He wants to hire me to come pull all the emissions off it so its reliable on his ranch in Idaho. I go over this morning and this is a barn find. It has what appears to be a dealer installed Ramsey 8K electric winch on the front. It had a base plate made to move the stock bumper out 6", and little brackets that held the stock turn lights on either side of the rollers.
I did some measuring, and it has the same mounting points as the PTO one on the front of the wrecker. I will have to make a shorter side piece to clear the controls. OK, enough blab, heres proof...
It's actually just an 8Klb winch. You can see it's rated for 8Klbs on the first layer. I think the 24K rating is just it's max working load limit. Model looks like a standard DCY200R.
Awesome. Their web site had quite a bit on PDF, so I have all the basic info, just wondering about the B.
The main spool is identical to the '71 PTO version I have. The motor and gear boxes make this poor thing quite bulky, but will be right at home in the factory bumper. It also solves the conflicting PTO shaft issue.
