boy that front drive shaft doesn't look like it can compress much more.

Many people have broken their t-cases due to shackle reversals without changing the front shaft. Our shaft is designed to expand more than it collapses. With a rear shackle it needs to be reversed.

I don't think the knuckles have been turned. It is a little twitchy at highway speed. Similar to having 1" shackle lift on the fronts.

For a basic SOA add the diameter of the axle tube to the maximum thickness of the leaf spring plus any shims, perches or anything that is between the tube and the spring.
