Well I had a blowout today...luckily I have a good spare and a friend with a jack (note to self: make sure your truck has a jack).
I'm pricing tires and found a good deal on some BFG A/T 33x10.5x15's. These should fit fine on a stock suspension w/ no rubbing, correct?
They also have 31's, however i plan on installing an add-a-leaf kit here soon (came with the truck), so i'd rather not get 31's.
Does anyone have any pictures of some 33's (or 31's for that matter) with no lift, or a 2" lift?
I don't plan on doing any hardcore wheeling in this truck, as i have a trail rig already. Just need to get some new rubber ASAP and these tires are a steal.
thanks!
edit: also, whats your opinion on 33x10.5 vs. 33x9.5 ?
Do you have 8" wide wheels? If you have 7" wheels they will rub the e-brake lines and possible the springs in back. Well, if they are 33x12.50's. If you went to tall/narrow route you would be ok even with the narrower rims. And personally I am a fan of tall narrow tires, even though wider ones often look better. I prefer the traction a narrow tire gives (zero mud bogging here). In FL you may want a wider tire.
i'll have to check the stock wheel backspacing, but i have never seen a 9.5" tire on a fsj so that is more curiosity than anything. 12.5 is too wide for this application (imo) as i will be using this truck mainly for street driving. i've had 10.5's before but they were on a ford.
I think narrow tires can look great on a FS, and like Mike I prefer a narrow tire over a wide tire. Unfortunately, in the taller tires they seem to be almost extinct. The best looking tire I had on Schwag was a P78-15 Buckshot Mudder. GREAT tire in the dirt, TERRIBLE tire everywhere else. But they looked good!

'77 J-10 with stock leafs, with an overload on the rear. The tires are 32-11.5. 33's will rub at full turn and stuff. I have to really try to get these 32's to rub.
