Here's an obscure one: 1997, a north Hollywood bank heist that changed the rules of law enforcement patrols and weapons. 2 drugged up yahoos shoot 16 cops and civilians... One of the suspects tries to commandeer a jeep gladiator! The driver runs away after being shot at with an AK-47. That driver took the keys of the truck and saved lives as a result. Cops pin the robber down as they exchange automatic gun fire in a residential neighborhood.... YouTube it.

I recall this being discussed to death on the "Mothership".
As I recall the story, the Gladiator owner had a kill switch under the dash he flipped before he took off.
Ya gotta love those less-than-buck toggle switch that no one knows about.
Crank on it till battery goes dead...it's never start.

No FSJ, but this popped up on the TV. A CJ 6 in Lonely Are the Brave. Walter Matthau, Kirk Douglas... Walter used the cj6 to track down the rogue cowboy Kirk.
