Testing the Heater Blower Fan

Post by Theodore »

Yesterday, we made a run in the Wagoneer to the mountains to pick up a Christmas tree, with no fan to blow to heat and/or defrost.

So, with that in mind, I thought I’d write up the testing procedure i used to test the heater fan today.

First, unplug the heater fan switch connection - shown here:

Attach a short wire lead with an alligator clip:

Touch the wire lead to the hot side of the battery - motor should turn assuming motor is grounded properly.

As it turned out, my fan worked, so i went back inside & started the engine, turned on the heat & fan, and it worked!

The good news is: it mustve been a bad connection. All fan speeds worked.
