I picked up a 1970 Jeep J-4000 that needs to have the rear markers and taillights including backup lights replaced. I am having a hard time finding replacements, since it is a year of transistion and everywhere I look has to 1969 or after 1972 lights. I do not have the original lights so dont have anything to compare them to for reference. can someone help me locate a set of rear tail markers, reverse lights and replacement taillights?
this is what I have currently. You can see on the side markers that they used two different ones. Rear taillights and backup lights are from harborfreight.
The "beehive" backup lights sold for CJs are correct and will work.
The tail lights used the same lens as the CJ-5 tail light, see the "last round tail light" here. http://cj3b.info/Dating/Taillights.html I expect the Gladiator used a different bucket though, and if the bucket is missing behind the lights you have now, you may have trouble finding a replacement. The lenses are available from the aftermarket (Crown?).
On second thought, it's probably the same bucket as the CJ, and it mounts to tabs in the bed. These lights are difficult to find in any condition. They were also used on the Thriftside bed.
Those tail lights are not being reproduced today, but the lights in the following link can be used on the CJ and look pretty close https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-x-new-Red-Si ... 0798744705 Might also work for your application.
