Just a thought on the slow fueling issue.

Post by dbabicky »

I was curious about this fuel tank vent valve from the newer Grand Wagoneers. SKU:5360059 & 52018823 from Team Grand Wagoneer. I was wondering if you drilled a hole in the top of the fuel tank on the older J-Trucks that had the slow fueling issue, and installed this valve, and ran a vent hose up out of the way, would it eliminate the problem ? Just something to ponder, or has anyone else thought of or already tried this ?

The slow fueling is mostly due to the long, twisted fuel filler and a long bent hose that isn’t large enough. My J-Truck has never had a slow fill issue, as the fill hose is pretty short, and it doesn’t go down, then up, then down again like the Chero/Waggy ones do. I did know a guy with a body lift and was able to change the filler hose to be more straight, and get rid of the “trap”, and his filling issues were gone.
