Decoded the date on the bottom. Manufactured in October of 1968. This puppy just turned 50. It has a few battle scars on the exterior, but the plastic is solid. Best part is the inside is in perfect shape, right down to the plastic tray.

Yep. And prices are on the rise because of this. Seen some that were in rougher shape internally for $10-20 more. Real nice ones are listed for $100. This one is the only one I seen with an immaculate interior with the tray. I nabbed it for $53 including shipping.
Based off of some youtube reviews, it will hold ice up to 4 days. Yeti can do 5.
Personally, I think it fits with the Jeep better than a modern Yeti or equivalent.

I remember the folks borrowing several of those when we went on our week long fishing trips when I was a kid, it was one of the only times we got sodas, usually some off brand.
I recall the plastic outside bottom would get dinged and torn if handled roughly. This one looks in great condition. $53 is a steal compared to any Yeti, for example. Do they work as well as the modern all-plastic ones? With modern insulation and such?

The youtube review I watched reviewed the Yeti 65, Yeti 35, Grizzly (yeti knock off), Vintage Coleman steel belted, Modern steel belted coleman superman, then 3 or 4 others.
Yetis still had Ice on day 5 (as did grizzly), the vintage Coleman was done on day 4.
Still, 3 solid days of ice. Cool factor. I'll take it. I plan on just using it on day trips.
