1979 Chief Power Mirrors in 79???

Post by Fast79Chief »

Inside my drivers door panel at the top front there's a rectangular hole that looks to me like a mirror control was in there at one time. Since I don't have any 'build sheet' info on this vehicle, Does anyone know if the 1979 Chief's had Manual exterior mirror controls in the panel or if that hole is for Power mirror controls?

Thanks for you help with this one.

In that era there were cable controlled mirrors, where the "joystick" pulled a series of cables to adjust the mirror instead of hitting switches to power motors. I don't believe there were power mirrors prior to be 83, but could be wrong.

mx71, do you have the plate that goes inside the door? The plate or mount that the joystick would mount to.
Thanks.

I don't have the plate, no. Mine had this mirror on it when I bought it, but someone put it on afterwards. My mirror sold though.
