Front shackle post style mount question

Post by Phils67 »

I have been searching the interwebs for months trying to find shackle bushings or replacement shackles for my 7/8 post style front with zero luck. The bushings are whooped and need to be replaced badly. My question is, does anyone know of a replacement bracket that will be able to use a modern 9/16 bolt style shackle (similar to like a XJ/MJ rear shackle) and would be a simple swap in if I remove my forward front post mount? Has anyone done it? What do all of you early FSJ owners do in this situation? I am sure SOMEONE out there has had to replace the bushing at one point or another. Why does this have to be so difficult. I just want one day of driving this truck without the front end feeling like its going to fall out

RB86 for rear pivot and upper shackle, you need 4. RB79 for lower shackle in spring, you need 2. These are industry standard numbers for the OEM type bushings. Your friendly neighborhood spring shop should be able to get.
