These fender guards are New Old Stock AMD and I am not certain if the fender guards were a Kaiser era product too... I think I remember in Kaiser era that people were spraying a rubber coating on the fenders to keep paint from chipping.

Because this is the last year of the Kaiser era truck and I am trying to keep it as original & period correct as possible... I prefer not to put them on if they are AMC era only.

Does anyone know the answer?

Either way if I do decide to install them... I am not drilling any holes. I will use some kind of removable adhesive caulking and clip the top off some stainless screws and glue them over the screw holes so it has the appearance of being bolted... without the holes in the flairs...

Now these babies are for sure Kaiser era. Took me a lonnnnnggggg time to hunt these up.

I have 4 of them but I am thinking of just putting them on the front for now.

Again it will be a no holes drilled install. I am designing a mounting bracket for them.

There is a scrapyard 40 miles from me that has 8 or 9 Jeep pickups & Wagoneers from the 60s & 70s era that still have a lot of usable parts.

New York State so anything that would normally rust is probably shot.

Anyway next week I am taking my nephew on a tour of this 30+ acre all in the woods old school junkyard. Many vehicles from the 30s 40s all the way up to the late 70s.

A few Jeep Willys PickUps out there too.

We will be taking closeup pictures of all of the J Trucks & Wagoneers and will be posting those pictures in the FSJ Parts Sales section of this forum.

Members can look over the pics to see if they see anything usable... and my nephew and I will take a Gladiator Road Trip to the same yard again in 2-3 weeks to pull whatever parts people have expressed an interest in. Yard owner is a good guy to work with so hopefully we can get the parts on the cheap.

Please check the FSJ Parts Sales section after the 18th of October.

Those mudflaps look awesome! I think those would look great on all four tires.

Great score on those mud flaps! They are very hard to find. If you ever decide the sell the other pair please let me know!

The fender flair gravel guards are AMC era. I've never seen any Kaiser era literature mentioning them.

My 71 has the black guard on the rear flares. Started in 69 or 70. Also has plain front mud flaps that mount the same way with a screw through the flare like shown in the brochure.
