Okay, I am going to be honest. Today is the first time I opened this thread. I saw the picture at the top and thought... oh goodness. No way to bring that back. But the results speak for themselves. I am blown away at how good that looks! What a transition! Great job.

Before the accident, I was thinking of doing a Roadkill Comet Wash then having it clear coated to protect the patina and stopping rust. (In the desert of Idaho, we don't have much beyond surface rust). And looking back at all my receipts, I am actually shocked at how much little stuff 1.) adds up, but more impressive to me is 2.) how much I have done myself.

I am no mechanic, but I love doing it. My older brother was a master mechanic and had every certification on his wall that I think they had... seriously, he had his own gas station/service station for years. He could open a hood, listen to it idle then tell me exactly what was wrong. It was eerie. But if something happens, I come here and ask then go try to fix it myself. The ONLY thing I couldn't do and gave up on was rebuilding the carb. I took all the pieces down to a local shop, then mounted it and took the Jeep down to get it tuned.

The bulk of items that I have bought have come from BJs, the rest are teamgrandwagoneer and pick a parts.

I absolutely love how the color came out.

That color looks gorgeous! Do yourself 1 better and buff the heck out of it so you can see your face in it. You won't even want to put the wood back on! Serious accolades on the job my friend.
