Caliper brackets

Post by Phils67 »

Is there more than one type of caliper bracket depending on year/model FSJ?

There is more than one type of bracket. But year for year, they should be the same as long as the front axle is the same. For instance a J20 front axle, which had larger rotors, will be different than a Chero/Waggy/J10 caliper.

J10/Cherokee/Wagoneer are all the same for the same given year. And really, for a spread of quite a few years. For instance 74-79 are the same for those three.

Yeah the J20 brackets I wanted to use are for like a 12 1/4 rotor. Im doing a closed knuckle disc swap and using 77-78 cj7 1 1/8 thick rotors with GM calipers. Was hoping to do this as budget as possible being i have those j20 brackets but i guess not. Oh well. I will save them for the 8 lug front i am going to build eventually one of these days

Will K10 brackets from the same generation (70s) work as well? Its a GM caliper. I have a free pair of K10 brackets i can pickup tomorrow

I have not tried that myself, but there is a very good chance they will work.
