Early hood ornament

Post by Phils67 »

Does anyone know if there was a hood ornament available for the early trucks? I picked a hood up yesterday that had what looks like a Lincoln hood ornament and either need to fill the hole or find something that looks right. Just curious if there were any available back then and what they would look like

No hood ornament on J-trucks AFAIK. Grand Wagoneer only, also AFAIK.

84-91 GW were the only ones to get an ornament.

Silly me. Completely forgot about the Super Wagoneer. They had two.

A Jtruck dressed up in Super trim. That would be something to see. Would that be like cross dressing?

That would be the gunsights, correct? Wonder if i could put a single gunsight in the center where the hole is? I bet it would look kinda cool

Would be cool, if you can find one. May be something close out there in the aftermarket.

Ive been thinking about it this morning. I may just make one. Find something round and use a speaker grille emblem as the insert.
