It was actually looking pretty good today when he came by Bob's place.

Broke down on the side of the road?!?!?!?!?
Tom, that is actually the best place for me to break down (in front of my house).
Dusty, thank you but for some reason she refuses to call it any other name..... Just junk.
I plan on making an oven with the panels because I have no ac. It's going well I have a few detail to address but it runs well. Most significant is my exhaust leak.
Well my leak is no more interior is swapped with dubya, tire carrier installed, and a car seat is installed. The next step will be some items to make it trail ready to run with the big dogs (rock rails and a gas can carrier) . It now gets driven daily so that is a major accomplishment.

I just have to share with you all an update, where it is from to where it is. I cant recall every detail, most of them are listed in an earlier post but most is evident from the pictures.
Cleaned up and brought home.
First getting the darn wood grain off was a PITA.
did not get the lift done the first time but had fun "ridin durty".
How it is now that I have busted my knuckles and momma pocket book.
Sorry it is this long but you know this is just to show that with a little perseverance, a LITTLE money and a lot of elbow grease it can become something loved by everyone (but your spouse). Keep your head up and surround yourself with positive like minded people that are willing to help and anything is possible. It still has some work to be done but it is now a daily driver, cant take the kids to school in anything but this.
Your rig is looking good, Gumby. I like your comment about "can't take the kids to school in anything but this". I know every time I drive by the local elementary school in the Wagoneer, kids always stop, look and point. They really seem to get a kick out of these old rigs.

Now this is where we are as of today. A lot of work buy was well worth it. You can see there is a way as long as you are willing to bust a knuckle or pay for it.

Man.... looking back on this is crazy. But I guess this is normal FSJ ownership. Many times I have lost motivation due to some little things. Well nothing major has happened with the junk. I did finally do something to hopefully make it more capable. We all hear the stories about fuel issues, carb or no carb..... Well I'm staying with what I have until it either frustrates me to no end or I get better at tuning it. Yes I intend on keeping my wheel chock edlebrock . I've been working at it and I think I'm almost there. Next week it will get a good shake down in the old pueblos.
Thanks to everyone that helped me to get here, your advice and reassurance has kept me in the driver seat. Now let's get it on a trail
