Cherokee chief

Post by Shagoneer »

Question for all of you who know FSJs more than I do (most of you) what is the difference between a wagoneer and a Cherokee chief 4 door. Someone is selling one nearby. It has a 2 barrel 360, and the interior looks almost the same as my wagoneer. I’m having problems telling what the difference between the two is other than the fake wood trim not being of the Cherokee.

As far as I know there was no 4dr Chiefs (With the exception of the rare super chiefs). There was 4dr Cherokees, which were basically base model wagoneers.

The tail lights will be different as will most of the interior. Also, they normally weren't optioned out as well as the Wagoneers. Other than that, most everything is the same.

Pictures would help. Who would they help? Well, we all like pictures ya know. I have never seen the elusive 81/82 4 door Chief in person.

Interesting never knew those existed.

Yeah, the downscale Wagoneer became the 4-door Cherokee. It's a Wagoneer with different options ... stripes, wheels. Could have things like crank windows and no overhead console, and so forth.

Wow, looks like the real deal. I changed your first image so we can see it. You used the wrong tool to post pictures.

They're asking 1750. They said it runs and drives, the only problem with it is the mechanical fuel pump is broken so it's currently hooked up to an electric pump to run. I'm so steering getting it as a family adventure vehicle I can it a roof tent on and the car seat in the back seat.

Hmmm. Running, driving, at least one fairly solid quarter panel? It looks like a deal to me. Check the roof and the drip rails. If the body is solid, I'd buy it.

I’d buy it for sure. Would love to have a four door. I never see any in my neck of the woods.
