interior work

Post by HowardT64 »

I have plans soon to redo the interior. Going to start with the cargo area first. I will carefully remove all of the carpeted material lining the sides and trace them on some nice 1/4 plywood. Make my cuts, and smooth the edges very nice and then stain it. The carpet will be the last thing I do for the interior. It will cost the most to get done. The door panels will take a "bit" longer due to the holes ill have to cut for everything. But they will get stained as well.
I am thinking of taking the door handles off and replacing them with something different...just not sure yet. Got some nifty LED lights for the inside as well. I need to get the seats recovered, that will be a spendy son of a gun. Ill get those covered with a durable cloth Easier to clean and wont crack.

Ill keep you all posted and yes Ill take lots of pics :)

I used marine grade vinyl so far on my interior and love it. If youre doing cloth and want easy to clean maybe microfiber like some sofas have? It would definitely be different

Yea i made a thread about doing the mod. Bolts right up to our existing brackets just gatta drill the holes slightly bigger using a step drip biy and i mention the exact size in my thread as well .. but if you want the flip function to work you gatta cut a little off our bracket so the slide pin can lift up as its ina diff spot on this console. Read this thread.. has all the pics you want.. Consoles come in black. tan. burgendy. blue.. And cloth or vinyl.. They have coin holders. two cup holders and storage.. and the best thing is both doors close.

Check ebay tyoe in buick roadmaster center console.. I bought mine on ebay for 75$ but then of course i found one in the junkyard and sold it for 100$ lol.. They only come on buick roadmasters from 92-96..
