On my windshield toady

Post by deckroid »

So, I came out of the local farming store with an arm load of goodies and found this on my windshield.

I was thinking I should send Johny a text message declining the offer.

No, that just invites pestering. If your going to contact him at all, do so with your starting price if you're willing to sell. Otherwise, just let it go.

People left me notes when I owned a '65 step-side F100. Never had a note on a J-truck though ...

When I drove my scrambler around Germany this kind of thing happened all the time. I'd park, go do some sightseeing, and come back to one (or several) cards on the Jeep. Sometimes it was a little disconcerting as a CJ sure is easy to steal. But I never had a bad experience. I even came back to it one evening and saw two guys arguing over the Jeep. They both wanted to buy it, even though I wasn't selling.

Never had a note, but ive had like 10 offers to buy it in person at gas stations. I declined them all. I've put too much work into it and its really my first vehicle ive ever restored, and first vehicle ive ever bought with my own money without any loan or help. One guy offered 10 grand but i still declined

Got one recently in my CJ. I'm sure the person wanted it for peanuts otherwise there are plenty for sale on CL or ebay.

IF I were to make this approach to someone I would include what I was willing to pay.

You can't do that though. Then you would have to live with watching a bro-dozer version of your Jeep drive by everyday. Just image, the front with an 8" lift, the rear with a 2", 15" wide wheels, and no less than 8 shocks per axle ;)

I don't think I would ever sell my Jeep. Not now. I have only owned her since October of last year but we have a bond. Yeah, she leaks, needs more attention cuz she's a bit older and sometimes makes me swear under my breath (even quite loud at times) but hell, so does my wife and I am not getting rid of her anytime soon.

People always get a kick out of hearing that. Lol.

All these damn super lifted 3/4 ton Diesels that never tow or see dirt other than to get their dirt bikes to the edge of the pavement....
