Anyone tried to but the rear window motor from Summit?

Post by edognight »

I might need a new window motor, and the only two options are the 200$ rebuild and replace from grand wagoneers online, and one listed from Summit, that looks exactly like what my 1983 brogham has, but the website says it is the wrong one. or just in general, does anyone have advice on a new tailgate window motor? Thanks in advance.

they rarely fail, if it was me I’d just get a used one. Or have local auto electric shop rebuild it.

I think this is right, it looks identical to the one I have for a 1983 jeep waggy brogham, but the site says it doesnt fit. I had the motor rebuilt at a local electric shop, but when it went to the end of the regulator's range, it pushed the rotor down into the housing so hard, that it jammed. I spent about three hours troubleshooting, assuming the motor was good, and it wasnt...

yea looks the same as mine the plugs from later years to earlier years might be different. but all you have to do is cut the plugs up and solder or use butt connectors.. not a big deal.
