Question on Size

Post by IneedaFSJ »

I am looking for a FSJ that will fit me. I am wondering how much leg room is available in FSJs. I have the unfortunate hight of 6 ft 5 in tall, and I need a truck I can fit in comfortably. Any suggestions?

Are you looking for a J-Truck (pickup) or a Wagoneer/Cherokee?

I am 6ft 3in, and I have owned a '75 Cherokee and a J10. My Cherokee I could push the seat back and had plenty of room. In my J10 I put bucket seats in, so its a bit tighter, but not terribly so. I just cant push the seat back quite as far.

You are probably just going to need to sit in one. I fit ok in mine, but everybody is shaped a bit differently.

One flavor cab through all the years of production. About the biggest change was the hump in the floor for left hand transfer cases in 80 and shaved cab brow in 81. Pretty sure the front seat placement is the same for all FSJs also.

I am tall also (6' 6.5''): no problem in the Cherokee, tighter in the J10, would be better with extra room for sure, but my at least my knees don't touch like in a Wrangler

I'm 6'4" and have both a waggy and J10. The J10 is tight, but the thin racing seats help. The stock seats in the waggy go further back.

If you really want room (and a sleuth of other improvements), get a Toyota Landcruiser/Lx450. My buddy is 6'9" and loves the leg room.

And speaking of the Duke, it is his birthday today. Happy Birthday John Wayne! Didn't have any problems in the CJ6's in Hatari either.

Hello fellow Olnean! I've got a J10, but its in pieces. If you wanna swing by some time and check the fitment, and maybe just chew the fat, you're welcome to.
