New owner, 1979 Jeep Cherokee

Post by davidt443 »

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a 1979 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 360 V8 with quadratrac. I plan on doing a restore/functional offroad overlanding rig.
i have started a YouTube channel to vlog my restoration process. I plan on uploading 1 video per week. Below is the second episode of the vlog which shows me buffing the paint.

I swear I've seen that cherk on the forums before, PO asked about tires and fender trimming IIRC. Don't remember when or if it was here/mothership, but it looks crazy familiar. Welcome to the fun, David!

Possibly, the lady I bought it from only owned it for a year and someone passed away in her family so she had to sell it. At least thats the story she gave me, I still negotiated hard and felt like I got a great deal.

It's going to be an awesome video! I don't know if you watched the first video, but my new carburetor, fuel pump, and fuel filter will be delivered Wednesday this week. The install of those components will be episode 3. Episode 4 will be the wheel polishing. I started 1 wheel yesterday and its going to be sweet. Hope you enjoy the videos!

Nice. I just posted in the Overlanding section my build up, so far on my '77 Cherokee. Need to make a showing of these vehicles in that scene.

Not a fan of brown but that patina makes it look awesome. Great job.

Thanks man, the brown is growing on me. It's a color you don't see on the roads and I agree the patina gives her character!
