I found a 69 jeep pickup advertised and wanted to see if the cab and bed will interchange to my 78 j10 honcho? Or are there major differences between them? I found in the search that tailgates changed in 74 but didnt see anything about swapping them or cabs. Both are short beds.
Frame mounts are different for the cab and bed, motor mount are different. There is a good chance the bed will not fit the wheel base. I'm doing a 66 to 77 frame right now.
The beds pre-73 (IIRC?) were single walled and have tailgate chains. Single wall makes them less susceptable to seam rust, but the appearance is a little different. Round taillights instead of rectangular. The wheelbase changes from 120 to 119, so the wheel openings will be misaligned.
