Hello,
Do to a military transfer I am looking at selling my Chief yet I have no idea what to ask for in a local ad in the Northern Virginia area. Any help would be appreciated? It has a professional rebuilt 360 with mild cam, new edelbrock carb, intake, hei, radiator, nose to tail rewire, digital gauges, rebuilt tranny, 3" suspension lift and much more. There are a few things left I didn't get to like wiring in the dome light, radio and ebrake but I have new cables.

Judging by the photos, if I was looking to buy a 90% Chief like yours, I'd be willing to pay up to 7500.00 if there were no hidden surprises.
Great looking Chief!

Late to the game here... But I've discovered that FSJ prices are crazy up in New England, at least. If I were in your shoes, I'd start with something closer to the 15k mark, unless you need to sell quick. I've had 2 people walk up and offer to buy my Grand Wagoneer, one of which said he thought it was worth 15k and it's just in "good", decently kept, original condition. Just my 2 cents.
EDIT: Here are some basic comps from my area... actually this is almost every FSJ for sale in the Northeast. (No cherokees for sale that I found so I'm using Grand Wagoneers)
Actually thought it was yours until I did a little more probing. Very similar. Honestly was about to PM you to see if you were selling the roof rack, wanted to get on the top of that list, lol .
While I agree w lumpskie on the pricing in New England, something to point out is that those ads are all late models/end of run models(87+) which seem to have the stronger value. The mid 70's just haven't come up to that price point yet, although there have been a few exceptions on ebay as of late. That said, I would certainly watch the chief like yours on ebay to see where it sells.
Good Luck!

I'll be watching that one to get an idea, that one sure is pudry. Thanks for all the advice. As for the roof rack I probably have $200 into it to include the lights. Nothing more than a chop saw and mig welder and roughly 10ish hours to include the painting. If I could do it over I would have powder coated it.
Ebay sale ended at $22,600 and I don't believe the reserve was met. I hope you get close to that for yours! Maybe our Cherks are making their run in the classic car collectability world!

That means there are at least 2 buyers looking for a Chief just like yours. Id stick it on Ebay at 15 and see what happens.
This might convince me to sink more money into my black hole, er Wagoneer!
