Engine bay fire wall wire harness cover?

Post by 79CCPathKiller »

1979 Cherokee chief. Is there a cover that covers the wiring harness that plugs through the firewall? My truck doesn't have one and the wiring harness just looks ugly did they make a cover that actually covered up the plug and part of the loom on the driver side engine bay? If you have a picture could you email it to me? Thanks in advance. Jason

No cover. Wires go directly from the plug into the plastic wiring loom.

Yep, it was just a bundle of wires in a loom wrapped with tape. No shield or cover of any kind. I used to have a picture, but no mas.

My 90 has a cover.. The wire harness itself is wrapped and has those plastic heat loom like things around it. And where it plugs into the firewall there is a box like cover that snaps in and covers the plugs from rain and so forth.

So maybe only newer Grand Wagoneers had the covers and older FSJ's were just exposed

Pict please, we need to fabricate/duplicate them

It is always an annoyance when you pop the hood and forgot that the dew will rain down that connector/firewall plug

Yea a picture would be great because it happens ever time I open the hood and its wet I just watch it dribble right on the plug. Thanks

Here are pics. I had to pull one partially off because my fog light wiring was bubbled right up to the firewall when i first got the Jeep.. I have not to this day figure out how to remove these covers.. Thats why when people tell me its 1 or 2 bolts and you unplug the harness im confused because i cannot figure out how to get this cover off..
