I got this arm rest idea from a guy who did this to his J10, on a thread from like 7 years ago i found on google but i thought id share it with you guys. You can get these consoles from 92-96 Buick Roadmaster Wagons they have wood panels on em old station wagons. I think Cadilac fleetmaster broughams from 92-96 have them too.
Its almost plug and play no huge major modifications. Has 2 nice deep cup holders and storage for quarters nickles and dimes, and alot of storage for your junk like most vehicles today have. I had to order this one on ebay as i couldnt find a red.cordovan one in the junkyard. Was $85 plus shipping on ebay. The only modification you have to do is you need to drill the 2 two holes on the existing wagoneer bracket 1 size bigger. The mounting screws are slightly larger. The brackets you also need to bend inward, meaning put your palm on them and push them in slightly as the stock arm rest was slightly wider. Also you need to cut the bracket where the sliding pin slides on about half an inch back. The pin on this arm rest is higher up and if you try to lift the arm rest up it will only go up half way before it stops. Once you do these modications though you wont be able to go back to the stock arm rest just an FYI.
I dont mind the slight off color its matchs pretty closely to my interior. Also if anyone wants one i have a sand/whitish one that will match the tan/white interior's the FSJ. Pulled it from the yard, the leather isnt ripped but it is a tad faded on top. The cup holder section also stays open as the little slide pin that holds it closed broke off (was like that) but you can screw a new pin on it and itll stay closed
Here are some pics of the modifications you need to do.
Drill the mounting holes to 13/32nd to fit the new screws. Then you need to cut a little bit off the top of the bracket for the pin (so the threads line up with the bolt hole as its a tad too high) and you need to cut back the stop on the bracket about 1/4 of an inch or so. File it down smooth and put it back together.. And yes i know the screw goes over the red rubber flap but i put it there without so you can see the cutting i did
