What fuel pump

Post by Tin Medic »

Need to replace my fuel pump but dont know what PSI I need. I have a fuel injected 4.2L with the Clifford 6-8.

Engine - 258
FI - Mopar
All Factory - No
Add on - Yes
Pump is external, cant find a part number but I believe it was for a carb which might explain a few other issues.

I'm sure it doesn't help much but I had a Holley pump on my old ram charger with the regulator on it and it ran great like that....you can get it dialed in just right....

Have you put a pressure gauge on it to see what it is now? I would start there. I recently put a new electric pump, NAPA generic, on my GW and found that even though I had nice pressure for a carb at 8-9 psi, the volume could not keep up with 401 consumption. I went back to the AutoZone pump at 3.5-4.5 psi and doing fine. Some experiences vary...

I am running the McParts store E-2000 fuel pump. It does well over what both of my TBIs need. It is also easy to mount, a hose clamp works well.
