Just picked up an original 69 dated Sun Super Tach from my buddy. It was in an 85 F150 with a 300 so we both thought that it was a 6cyl tach.
I opened it up and it's an SST-802. For a V8. Just wondering if I can do anything to make it work with the 230 in my 63.
Thanks.

If it seemed accurate on the ford maybe it was modified, other ones I've had have a 4-6-8 switch in them.

Possible. Some one replaced all the wiring. At least it looks like it. The colors are all wrong for a Super Tach. Truck has no key though so I couldn't start it (easily).
My buddy bought the truck to scrap from the same guy he bought a 69 Corvette 350HP 350 4-speed car from. Thinking it might have come from that.

They are different internally. You can make it work, but if it doesnt have a switch to choose between each, then its going to require changing some components.

Any idea what? I've read about changing out resistors and capacitors.

This isn't a Sunpro, it's a Sun Electronics Tach. One of the originals before Actron bought the rights to make Sun tachs and started calling them Sunpro.
