I think this very awesome and if I had the money I would buy this in heartbeat.
What I like most about it that is NOT a true high dollar and collectible 1968 AMC SC/Rambler.
That title used the word clone, but is not a clone or even a replica.
The eBay auction describes is as a re-creation and I like that description.

It looks, sounds, smells like a real RC/Rambler, but it was built to look that way, but under the hood is mostly 2012 technology.
This something that I would do with a stripped down model of a go-fast-car

I once owned a 1973 Chevy Nova, 2DR Hatchback.
It was not an SS or anything special, other than it did have a 307 V8, power steering and power drum brakes.
Because it was NOT a valuable car, I felt I could modernize and update it as I wanted.
Sadly, it was stolen before I was able to do much with it.

I want to think that some day, I will own an AMC go fast car.

Dude, this is the General Chat area. You can post just about anything you wan't provided it isnt vulgar or the like. We do have some rules, but I am certainly not going to bash on you for posting something like this.

I think Bring a Trailer is such an awesome site. Some really cool things show up on there.

Some of those folks on The AMC Forum got their skivies on 3 sizes too small. It is a great site but very biased towards "factory original". I am sorry it was deleted from there. I got varying responses on the Phoebe Too project. Anyways, not to beat up on them...

Dude! I had a good friend in high school that I helped work on his 56 Bel Air quite often. I never saw it in new paint because his folks bought him a 73 Ralley Nova hatchback. It was on the gray side of silver and a sharp car. The 307 would move it pretty good too. It had a 3 speed on the floor. It beat the snot out of the 56 in show and go.

The Scrambler is my first love in AMC muscle. One of the teachers at school bought a new one in 69. It would be in the parking lot some days and I would roll by on my bike drooling at it. I see nothing wrong with building a car like this. I might be a little ho-hum if it was powered with a bowtie. ;) The fact that they put a hotty 390 in it is a plus for me. I would so drive the wee out of it! :-bd

I don't see a problem with this, or clones in general, considering that all the rich "somethings" out there have driven the prices of the real cars up so high that no one but them can afford them, i.e. Barrett Jackson.

I had a chance to buy a real one of these that needed a little work about 10 years ago dirt cheap. They had it for sale forever and the seller told me no one wanted an AMC. Still regret it. I thought I wanted a fastback mustang at the time and didn't know what I missed.
