Full Size Jeep Network

I thought everyone might find this interesting since a lot of people here also have babies jeeps.

Apparently after WW2 a company named Mahindra (their only real product on the US market before now was tractors.) Bought the rights to produce the CJ series internationally. From what I understand the agreement did not include an expiration for their license, and upon closer inspection recently did not prevent them from selling in America.

Enter the ROXOR. It is almost identical to a CJ7 in size. It comes with a turbo diesel engine and 5 speed stick. Hey have said they will have a ton of color combinations, options for factory winch bumper and warn winch, options for lights bars, soft tops, possibility of hard tops in the future, different seat options, different roll cage options, a do shield option, and even the ability to order one that looks like a WW2 military jeep.

Now the bad. Due to modern safety regulations it cannot be sold as a car. So they are selling it as a side by side. However depending on the state you live in it can be easily register for street use. For example in new Mexico you just have to buy specials tags, and can drive an ohv anywhere other than a highway. Or in Arizona you just have to have a windshield, turn signals, headlights, and a horn, and you an tag a side by side as a car for street use.

Should be interesting to see how it goes once they are released.

Pricing is gonna start at 15K but when you look at the cost of a new side by side or a CJ7 in decent shape it’s really not that bad

Been doing more research in them this morning.

A model with a warn winch, KC lift bar, mirrors, Bluetooth sound bar, net doors, and Hd bumper is 19K.

Standard features include 29 inch K02 tires.

Ox hs already announced they are going to be distributing diff lockers.


Top speed is an electronically limited 45, but I’m assuming people will find a way to change that.


They have solid axles front and back with leaf spring


This could be a really nice investment for someone that wants to go off-roading in a jeep style vehicle that doesn’t have the means to do upkeep on a classic jeep, and doesn’t have money for a brand new JL

I agree. I built one on their site the way I would want it. No sound bar or extra lights. Keep the steel rims and stock tires. Only added the bumper and winch. $16,500. That is a very affordable, brand new, diesel Jeep. I'm actually impressed.

For all intents and purposes they are a brand new CJ5. I can see ranchers loving these things.

I would love one.

I was reading that the version sold in the Indian market for years now has the exact same drive train, and it goes 96. One of the Roxor team apparently had an ungoverned model up to 86 before he said he no longer felt safe with the short wheel base.

So yeah brand new diesel CJ5 with us bumpers, light bar, winch, and Bluetooth for less than 20K




Anothernplus is they are being assembled IN the US at the first new factory in Michigan in more than 50 years. As American companies shift more and more automotive jobs to other countries ( cough cough jeep, Italy) an Indian company is setting up a new factory in America

How big?

2.5 liter 4 cylinder direct injection turbo diesel. Pretty low out put by modern standards, but people will probably find a way to turn it up likenwih any diesel.

Its not like it weighs much, it has a lot more torque than the original flat head 4cyl that came in early CJs.

I'm with you guys. This is the only side-by-side that have ever interested me. My mom immigrated here from far northern India. Back there, Mahindra Thars have been compared to Jeeps quite a bit. And enthusiasts between the two makes frequently mix to wheel together. Long story short, Mahindra is a legit automotive company and it would be cool to own one.

We had a mahindra tractor on my grandfathers farm. It's take a beating and then ask for more. The only reason we bought it was because the John Deere dealer told us it was just as reliable and half the price, and he was not wrong. Just based on my experience with that tractor I'm gonna try to buy one of these in a couple years.

I wonder how easy it would be to swap in a CJ grille.

If the grills were different sizes it probably wouldn't be too hard to make one out of sheet metal and a die grinder. I mean it's not like CJ grills were super complex, holes for lights and a few parallel lines.

Kind of my thinking too. It's really the only think I dislike about the Roxor, but I know why they couldn't use the slotted.

I think it was part of the licensing agreement.

Will the Rhino grille fit on there? There must be a market, good for them.

I got excited when I read CJ7. I miss my CJ...especially the dashboard. CJ5 is too small for me - I have 3 boys so I NEED a back seat Guest I'll keep the TJ :> Doesn't look like it has a heater either, but I could be wrong...it is hard to tell from the limited pics of the dashboard.

Still, very cool.

Except the grille...

I read in j.p. Magazine it's got dana 44's under it

Diesel, 5 speed, 3.73, with 29" tires and 2.46 low range dana 18 "style" transfercase.

I think I'm in love.
