I've always thought they're a waste. What was the last new vehicle that resembled a concept vehicle?

And the Wag is an insult. Like they would ever bring anything close to that to market.

Now if I happened to work in the department that builds them I'd have a different attitude.

Well, none of these are intended for production. But last year had concepts with JL ideas integrated into them. So that was close to producing a concept.

Every year they build an old Jeep. In previous years we have had CJ's, FSJ's, FC's, Willys, etc. And no, they cannot start manufacturing old vehicles. They have never claimed as much. But I personally like seeing their old iron builds. I really liked the FC150 from last year that was on a TJ chassis.

The Wranglers are partly to show after market parts, but each one has a theme. This year they have an overlander, a baja style racer, a super light weight 2dr that is mostly carbon fiber, etc.

They may not be for everybody, but I like seeing the builds.

One off or not, I would drive the wee diddle out of that Wag.

I know BigJ200 is going, was chatting with him last night on Instagram. He just redid a bunch of stuff on his already awesome Gladiator. His build thread is here: http://fsjnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4490

I do like the waggy. At first I thought Stuka was just messing with us. But looking closer the subtle differences, like the fender flairs and the mirrors, become apparent. What else can you spot?

They extended the wheel base, custom bumpers, a 5.7 engine, integrated rock sliders, and a 4 link rear.
I prefer this to the Cherokee Cherokee concept they did a few years ago. Since this is an actual FSJ and not just a modded Wrangler

Feller on the other site noted the raised area behind the rear wheels is gone.

I do like it. Stuka's splantation that they always build an old Jeep mollified me.

Kept the best body features of the original Wag; four doors ;), tasteful early tail lights rather than bulging chrome, early dash.

I saw a similar discussion on the Int'l forum and asked about the frame. It is original 65 frame but all boxed and modified for the suspension. Wheelbase is stretched 2" front and 3" rear.

As far as doing a resto-mod style wagoneer that was built by Jeep, I think they did it very tastefully. When I first saw it I figured it was on a JK frame, kind of like the one they did one a Durango frame some years back. But then saw it is the original frame, just modified. Which made me happy. I have no issues with using JK parts (such as those axles), but I like to see them keep as much of the original parts as possible. I also like that they went with a Razer grill over the Rhino grill.

Agree on all this. It is interesting they did away with some of the original body line behind the rear fender.

manual tailgate and no plastic wood... so after 50ish years, it was made perfect... Well is there is a tripmeter and a voltmeter in the cluster, a 3 point seat belt for the rear passengers... a well as real headrest(s)...
So where can we see that project in person?

I like the white roof, the bumpers not so much and the wheels not at all. Maybe with dog dish caps. Three piece bumpers
and wagon wheels and then you've really got something. Really nice job on the fender flares at the rear doors.
And of course, my vote is for a rhino grill.
