I am glad

Post by fulsizjeep »

that there is a dedicated section on this forum for fuel injection. That way I don't have to follow all of Blake's most excellent posts on the topic. Or anyone else's for that matter. Just saying. What do you say? :P Not trying to PO anyone, just think that is funny. Over.

Well, I do do a lot of planning...

Are you planning to go to the fuel injected dark side Flint? It's a wicked sinful place; but I still vapor locked.

Now that you mention it... He's both 'off the grid' yet 'full on into fuel injection'. A complex man to be sure. ;)

Haha

Yes, I'm 100% A fuel injection guy and stand by all my previous comments.

One of the things I'm learning here on the mountain and off the grid is that you need things that you can rely on and things that are consistent. Carbs might be reliable, but they definitely are not consistent. When cranking my old 1940s duece and a half tractor with gm straight six 2 barrel carb, I never know how much starting fluid or throttle it needs to start. The honcho TBI is 100% consistent and starts/runs the same regardless of temp or how long it sat. I've thought a lot about installing TBI on the tractor and it would be easy.... but it is so low on the priority list that it's not even funny. Remember.... I'm homeless up here ;)

I'm curious why Flint is reading old TBI threads. Perhaps it's the cold weather coming on and he is tired of the certain inconsistency his carbs are providing.... hmmm

oh btw Flint, a buddy of mine literally just sent this to me. Just this past weekend I had a bunch of buddies up helping me install my 'garage in a box' which is really tall so we decided to grab the tractor/forklift to raise someone up 20' to install the door. LOL well the carb is plugged up or something and it would only run on starting fluid.

here I am towing the tractor up with the dozer.

most carbs are junk and I stand by that!

Hey Flint, is this "one of those" threads yet? At least we're in general...

Retirement is waiting. I have stuff to burn before then.

Blake knows I am yanking his chain. I think FI is awesome. For other people. Some carbs are junk and the others are just newer than 1991. ;)

I was actually noticing there were very few references to FI on other threads. There are more references to LS swaps. It is almost like LS swaps should have a section.

I think LS swaps and TBI conversions are totally separate conversations.

Are you thinking we need separate forums for each? Stuku needs to chime in on that...

I definitely don't think we need more subforums right now. A 1/4 of the ones we have now are dead enough I'd have hacked them already if it was my call.
