Removing front passenger seat from 08 Toyota. Any airbag issues?

Hi all, A friend of mine wants to remove the front passenger seat in her 2008 Toyota Solara because she is considering putting a cot on that side for sleeping at camp sites.

I know it might sound weird to some but regardless of the reason, is there any danger in removing the front passenger seat when it comes to the air bag? I don't know if this car has a smart bag or if you can even turn off the passenger side airbag in a 08 Toyota-anything.

Has anyone here ever asked the dealer to deactivate an airbag? I wonder if they would even do it.

Smart airbag or not, she will get an airbag warning light and the car may disable the rest of the airbags.

I always found that driving like a maniac, kept my mother in law from riding with me, ....no driver side airbag issue

Every vehicle since the late 90's has had a way to disable the passenger airbag, in case a child is sitting there. You typically put the key in to disable it.

A dealer will not permanently disable an airbag, its illegal for them to disable any safety features.

The computer may complain if the seat is removed, even if its disabled by the key.

More than likely will throw an airbag light/code. Disconnect the battery and let it sit for a couple of minutes before unplugging any air bad connector.

Doesn't the seat fold pretty much flat? I can't imagine getting a full size cot in there even with the front AND rear seat removed.
