I tore the tendon off of the end bone on my middle finger. I have to keep it flat using a stint for 8 weeks. Typing is compromised. And the Doctor said no working on the Jeep or other cars. The hope is it will attach itself but if I bend it even once I have to start the entire process over again.
My wifes liberty is inoperable with some kind of tranny issue. It thows a 700 code using the 'turn key' diagonstics but I have to borrow a friends scanner to get to the real problem. If it is something minor like a solenoid I might try to fix it or at least take it somewhere knowing what the problem is.
So no work on the jeep for a bit. It's too bad because I like working on cars and, most of the time, find it rather therapudic.

I can think of sooooooo many ways you injured yourself...but I'll keep it rated G.
Been there with the finger in a splint and know what a hassle it is.
Here's to your healing up will.

Check the battery. Number one cause of weird codes on KJ's is low voltage.
Bummer, time to learn how to become ambidextrous, my right shoulder has been aching for a year, a little Moab close encounter with a rock on the motorbike, so I am using more power tools, and when not wrenching the shoulder is good... in fact doing nothing is a painless and boring endeavor... good luck... spray painting is OK so far... doing some needed bodywork... after a dump truck decided to parallele park to close to the waggy...
and sightseeing... while the paint is drying, this is Bridalveil fall... in full flow, with scale... stuck in traffic and still enjoying the scenery... If you do not mind traffic, it is an incredible time to visit Yosemite, the falls are churning at a pace that may not be seen in years... I'll try find the same fall 2 years ago

Dang Mike. It sounds ouchy. Just don't bend it buddy. Last time I wrenched on a Jeep, I went to the ER that night so I have been holding back for a while. See if I can get this AFib under control next week with a cardial ablation.

thanks for the well wishes and kj advice. I actually injured it taking my sock off. I had just got home from hiking camelback. I was super sweaty and I wear thick hiking socks. The one is a bit tight to get on and off. So standing, I put the three middle fingers of both hands inside the sock to force it around my heal and that's when I heard the pop. The hand specialist said it wasn't an uncommon injury. A lot of people do it when trying to get fitted sheets on a bed as well. Of course sports players do it a lot too.

When you're healed I can keep you busy for a couple months on 4 or 5 of my vehicles, jeep included.

So be careful taking your socks off!
I have been hiking barefoot in keen a few times, when it is hot, or when river crossing are necessary, the keen are pretty good, very good grip on granite slab too... but socks are still needed in dusty places...
In fact there is a group that claim barefoot hiking is the way to go,
