Well that sounds wonderful! Where and for how much could one purchase such a marvelous little trailer?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I open this page with the badgers dancing, and Luke Bryan's "That my kind of night" is on the radio...it's in perfect time!   The badgers like country music!

To keep this BARELY on-topic, looks like I might be building ONE LAST 401. Or I might just sell the core. Every time I open up an old iron engine I just see how blatantly obsolete the engineering is compared to a modern engine. At the same time a little voice in my head says "Just one more, this can be the last".

A luxury only some of us can afford! If the Cherokee was drivable I could put two 401's in the trunk. But I'm sure you can do more!
You will have power on the dyno, but carry extra weight, which will restrain performance. To gain substantiel power, time for aluminum body parts, the tailgate, the doors, the hood... you could shave 500lbs... have adjustable suspension like the new GC, driving low to the ground you are gaining some aerodynamism... and chopping the roof for one of those low windshield ala british racing of the 50's

You probably already saw this thread about a 401 build... http://www.bulltear.com/forums/showthre ... uild/page2

What's super helpful for me is that he posts desktop dyno plot AND a real life dyno plot of the real life motor. And interestingly the desktop dyno prediction is reasonably close.

Motor makes 380hp peak and >400lb-ft from 2000-4400, and never goes below 380lb-ft at peak hp rpm. Gawd.

That's with a Comp Cams XE256... so I guess my recollection is faulty about the shorter duration cam in a 401...

Hate these links to youtube. Turn into a "squirrel for brains "and spending large amount of time checking out various videos. Squirrel for brains refers to a dog seeing a squirrel and off he he goes on various tangents forgetting where he was going. Sorry for the hijack.
