Same here. Over time, I collect strong bags to hold them. I like to roll them up and tie them with a Velcro strap but I typically just throw them in the back so I "can store it later". Funny but "later" never comes and I wind up untangling the mess to get one.
I keep the giant industrial twist ties that hold them to the packaging and secure them with those after I roll them up neatly.

What I do is the same thing as you, except I add a bunch of bungie cords to the mix. This makes it WAY easier! You just look at the mess, and then buying new ones when you need them seems much more reasonable.

I throw mine in a box with my tow ropes and jumper cables , shake it up, take it inside and role it down the stairs 9 or 10 times.
