Driver rotor rusted bad over winter. Got that turned yesterday, repacked bearings, installed hub & rotor, patched leaky fuel return, then it was dark.

Now battery is done for. Need a new one. Sigh. TC gets vindictive after sitting that long. Thinking I will go AGM this time. Autozone has one for a reasonable price.

I still have rear brakes to readjust and will need to completely redo engine bay fuel hoses to be safe. I hope the front crank seal goes well. Anyone install a repair sleeve before? :)

I have an embarrassing truth to reveal about the tshirts.

The short story is I forgot. Been busy with work, new GF, building the trucks, etc.

However - I did whip up a lame @$$ design and let it sit there until Monday, when I finally ordered two shirts and they will be here the day after we leave for the trip.

Yes, I know, Lame.

I don't use cb. I use FRS for 'wheeling for many reasons. I have 4 FRS radios and will bring them.

I'm Tom. Jason's (Brutus) +1.

I drive a 1997 Explorer XLT with a few parts thrown at it. It looks something like this currently:

As for radios I have a working CB, a couple FRS radios and a handheld Ham radio.

I've only been to Moab once- last May as part of the Kokopelli Trail/Paradox loop. The only trails we did were Top of the World, Rose Garden Hill and Onion Creek. I was only in the town of Moab for about 2 hours to gas up and get ice since we camped along the trail. I'm pretty much open to any of the trails Moab has to offer- although I'm not a huge fan of the higher rated trails. I've done tons of trails in CO- more than I can list.

Our plan is to caravan out early Thursday morning from Denver. Probably be in Moab around noon (give or take).

I'm pretty excited. The truck is already packed!

Yes.

I think. Where ever Jason reserved the campsite. Canyonlands RV park right in town. I think.

I am going to bring at least 1 maybe two loaner CBs with magmount antennas and a handheld.

Really not a fan of FRS for a variety of reasons. But it's all good we will figure it out.

Well I ended up having some tranny problems in the dually. I didn't know this about 4l80e, but there is a bushing in the tailhousing that looks like a connecting rod bearing. It's just lightly pressed in there and it's easy to knock it out when installing the driveshaft which is what I did, causing the shaft to be loose and leaking fluid.

So I just needed to remove the tailhousing, re-install the bushing and install a new seal.

Oh and I let out a little frustration once I fixed that thing and left a BEAUTIFUL 100 yard strip of rubber on the pavement. :D

ya, it's fixed and is running great!

We are loading everything up today and leaving town headed for Moab tomorrow at 5pm. I think we will stay in Grand Junction Tuesday night as our reservations at the Canyonland campground don't start until Wednesday.
