Basically ready to attach it to the transmission.

I'll have that done this weekend, along with running the custom wiring and hooking up all the vacuum hoses and what not. I expect to stab the engine on the 21st or 22nd. Maybe pushing that back to Thanksgiving weekend.

If you can't fix it with a hammer or duct tape you have an electrical problem.

Sure looks purdy. Where on earth did you find those hoses for the AIR system?

Yea, and then I gave you that setup at the DQ meet up. Don't remember that?

Thanks for the thanks.

Well yeah. You were the one who responded to the "parts wanted" post.

Thanks. :-bd

Oh, and I'm ahead of schedule. And I looked at the forecast for next week and it's going to be cold. If anyone has an hour to spare tomorrow, I could use a hand getting the engine hoist maneuvered around to stab the engine into the truck. Sometime in the morning or early afternoon would be ideal.

If not, it's no big deal.

I got one volunteer from the local Jeep club. That should be enough. But if you feel like coming by, we're going to be starting around 10am.

I decided that since I needed to adapt the alternator I had, and I wanted to go to a Premiere Power Welder eventually anyway, I bit the bullet and got the alternator/regulator package for now. I'll add the control box for the welder next year when budget allows.

I got the Ford small case PP160 alternator. The bolt fit but that mount extended farther than the factory alternator. Some careful measuring and a couple minutes with the Dremel and it fits perfectly.

But the stock replacement belts were just a hair short so I need to run by the store this evening and get "one longer" belts.

I'm in the process of replacing the split loom tubing on the wiring harness and doing things like getting rid of the choke heater circuit (as I no longer have a choke). So wiring this new alternator/regulator in also makes more sense now than redoing stock and then going back to redo it later.
