Phoenix Area Wheeling, Butcher Jones, Sat April 19th

Post by TUDrewser »

One and all,
Kevin is planning a Family-Oriented wheeling trip for Saturday April 19th. This was sent out to the email list last week but posting here too so it's documented (with Kevin's blessing).

Location: Butcher Jones/'The Rolls'/'The Coves' whatever you want to call it. Located on the north side of Saguaro Lake. Take the turnoff for the Butcher Jones beach/parking area. You only need a permit if you park in the lot, but the lot is for the beach goers anyway. So drive through the lot and go through the turnoff on the North end, and meet up there. We will stage just inside the gate in the wash.

Time: Meet at the Butcher Jones Day-Camp entrance (where the dirt road goes in) by 9 a.m. Kevin and myself will probably be there 8:30-8:45 to air-down, etc. Wheel the washes and various hill climbs making our way back to one of the coves on the north side of Saguaro Lake. Have lunch at that cove and wheel out. Should be in the upper '80s low '90s. Our kids will have the trunks incase they want to take a dip in the lake.

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate depending on the hill climbs attempted. Something for everyone.
