Awesome pictures George. Makes me all the more envious of the trip!

These trips are good motivation for me to get moving on the currently needed clean up job(s).

Here is a video I put together of the trip. I think the moving pictures adds to the depth of the canyons that 2D photos just can't bring out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wB6buX ... e=youtu.be

There are a lot of cool places in this whole area. Trying to see what I can before I have to pay to see it and fight big crowds. It's going to happen......... Already starting. :banghead:

On another note another trip is in the making. Looks like it is going to be a trip to Silver City, a almost ghost town, and what ever else we can make it to in the area. Still snow up there so some side roads may still be blocked. Should be a fun one so stay tuned for updates.

What is this?
Looks like some great trips.
I'll have to put you guys on my radar for a future trip. I have only done the Eastern side of Idaho. I still need to do Oregon,Washington and Western Montana. There is a trip to cover the Northwest in my future.

I believe that is a drum to winch buckets up out of a mine. Not shown in this picture is the gearing on the other side. Looks like the gearing converted vertical power to horizontal power. The item in the foreground is a old fire hydrant.

Lots of cool places to see around here. Let us know when you are coming so we can do a trip together.

It will most likely be next year before I do the northwest trip. There is a small chance for a swing through after I leave Ouray this July

I have been wanting to go on the Magruder pass for couple of years now. Had it planned couple of years ago as a motorcycle trip but life got in the way.
Finally got my suspension delivered today, it only took two and a half months to get it. Hope to get it installed tonight and than should be ready for an adventure that is long overdue. I work weekends now so it is hard to go on weekend rides. We should maybe get together for a dinner or something.

Yeah, things seemed to have slowed down here. The meetup group desolved too. I am heading out camping next weekend. Going to a nice warm spring and the fishing is awesome there too for small mouth bass. The road in does get a little rough and hairy the last few miles, but that is what a jeep is for. Anyone who is interested is welcome to tag along.

Hey Hiko, I actually called AV4X4 yesterday and left a voicemail, definitely planning on employing them for some suspension work and who knows what else.

George I'll be joining you on these trips as soon as I can! Made progress on the golden eagle but it's been a can of worms.

Got a new fuel tank installed, ran new line, cleaned up the craziness that once was a dual tank setup with lots of leaks, bypassed my ammeter (back of my gauge cluster was scorched, yikes), but found hell in the wiring the deeper I dove. The hot wire for the fuel pump was spliced out of the headlamp circuit, ran all the way back to the tail lights, then back through to the fuel pump along the way back to the dash. It was all just hanging loose in the rails of the frame. Cut all that mess out to get the pump back on its own fusible circuit and so now the brake lights don't work.

I've got a brand new wiring harness and it's looking pretty necessary at this point. Not sure if AV4X4 does electrical work too, but if so I'll be paying them to save my life on that one...

I am sure he can. I did not make the trip this weekend. Hope to do it next weekend. If I don't make it then I guess it will have to wait till next year. Maybe some desert trips this winter though.
