When I was taking the body off the frame, a lot of the captured nuts that are in the body that the body bolts thread into ended up spinning freely in the body. So, I have some work to do fixing those before I set the body back on as well.

Did you have this Jeep sitting in Killeen for a bit? I think I seen it parked along the fence, my dad had stopped by and asked if it was for sale but was told no, wasn't even allowed to look at it. Your steering box brace, my friend Tad Strickland makes those for bjsoffroad as well as the flip shackles, cheaper getting them through him instead of bjs. Also any graphics you need a friend of mine named Tonka makes those as well. Let me know if you need any help or want to get together some time.
Here's a pic of my rides.

Wow! A very cool project and good work. I really like the way you mounted the engine.

No, the Wagoneer has never been parked in Killeen. It has always been at my shop in Temple. And anybody and everybody is always more than welcome to come look at it anytime. But it is not for sale either though. I knew Tad made those steering box braces, but I was ordering some other stuff through BJs and my lack of self control got the best of me and I bought it. Where are you located? I love to get together with other FSJ people. Baby Jeep owners don't understand. I wave at them and they look at me like I am crazy. They don't realize I am driving a Jeep as well. I love your Chief. Take a look at my other build thread. I am working on a Chief as well, but it does not look near as nice as yours. Mine is an intermediate until I finish this build.

Anything new on this beast...been a while since your last post.
I'm thinking of putting the same axles in my waggy and found your thread while searching...I miss my 12v dodge bad and love the combination. I have family in Temple and my parents hope to move there soon. I'll be tanking my wife and son there for thanksgiving this year if things work out...
Hopin to see a "finished" product soon.

PS, I like the priorities and am familiar with the struggle to keep them in order...

No new progress. Just collecting dust. I keep picking up other projects and pushing this one back. I am still collecting parts for it. So, it will get finished, when it gets finished is a different story. It may end up being a project that me and my boys finish.

Any progress as of late? What are you doing to beef up the frame? I have heard some conflict reviews on what to do here... Looks good!

Wow, I have been off this project way to long. Looks like my last post was Sep 24, 2014. Well, here is to getting back on this one and getting it done. So, after its long rest I pulled it out of storage the other day and back into the shop. Surprisingly it only had 1 flat tire.

In the past 2 years I have changed my plan a little. I was going to go with the bushwhacker fender flares. But since then I have decided to go with the wide track flares. I have been working with Cherokee Jim on this and he turned me on to a body shop down in New Braunfels, TX called Classic Street Rides. They will be doing all the body work for the conversion. So, last week I mounted the body on a boat trailer I had sitting around and took the body down to Kevin at Classic Street Rides where Jim and I met with Kevin and worked out the details of the conversion. Kevin and Allie are going work thre magic on the body while I work on the frame and engine some more.

There are a couple of things I am doing to stiffen the frame. First, did you look at my engine mounts? This will stiffen the front of the frame up quite a bit. Second, I will fabricate a pretty substantial cross member on the transmission and t-case. Finally, the addition of heavy gusseted bumper on both ends and full length rock sliders. I believe by the time I do all this the frame will be pretty rigged. I may have to add some support back by the rear axle, but we will see. I also am considering an internal roll cage. If I tie it into the frame, this will stiffen everything up too. We will see though as the project progresses.

Hi Ross, great to see you getting back on the truck.

With luck I'm a couple months from having a roof on my shop, and my truck back under cover.

Classic Street Rides has started on the wide track conversion. Here are some pictures of the progress. The body on this Wagoneer was very straight to start with. So, thankfully there is very little body repair that needs done.

No, we are using front fenders from a wide track Cherokee and then grafting in read flares from the same Cherokee. It should look very similar to Scott's wide track. Except mine will be blue.
