I am going to be passing though Wichita on May 23 heading up to a wedding in St Francis, KS. You are not by chance going to be around are you? Would love to stop in and meet you and see the Cherokee.

well here we are again.. the engine was removed once again for final placement in the chassis
Image

with the engine out the chassis was cleaned again excess crap was removed making way for the final placement..
The drivetrain was removed for 2 reasons
1. The turbo was hitting the Heater box so I wanted to try something a little different using the "school bus style " manifold for the positioning of the turbocharger it clocks the turbo down and a little closer to the engine.

2. as mentioned the heater was kind of in the way also the down pipe will be moved adown a little bit as well with a spacer for the turbo I think it makes for a cleaner install that way ...

3. The engine angle front to rear was off quite a bit 3 degrees or something which on measurements showed it dipping the rear by 4 inches or more so....

A new trans cross member was made and installed and the drive train was put back in its final place!

Comnig together really nice. A t3 spacer will kick the turbo down as you said. Some say it will cause more lag.......pay no attention to that. In a Honda Civic yeah, CTD.....wont ever notice it unles the spacer is 2 feet long haha.

Always loveed the 2 door cherokees. Look good man!

Since I was asked I am updating this thread the project is not dead I am buying parts and getting ready for the spring it will need fuel ,brake lines hooked up
shocks mounted ,drive shafts, and wired to start. I at least want to start it in the spring ... I have been contemplating using a Wagoneer body on top because I like the space of 4 doors so... thanks Guys

Thanks man, I love the way you guys put these together. One day I hope I can accumulate the required skills to do this swap too, I just love the stump pulling power of the CRD.
